“The Scabbard Calls”
Hi mina-san!
No, I haven not dropped off the face of the earth. I’ve been working on a new (well, an old idea with possible promise) fan fiction/fan art site which promises to be BIG… super BIG, like MediaMiner.org or FanFiction.net big (or deviantART even - I know many have been looking for a DA alternative, and I think I’ll be able to provide that.) It’s in the works, it will happen all the dots are being connected as we speak!!
I’ve also been busy preparing for NaNoWriMo. So, there’s been some very exciting things happening. But don’t worry. I haven’t forgotten about this site, and I am always looking at ways to improve it.
First things first however… the scanlations gallery. Many of you have noticed that I ‘FINALLY’ found a gallery with shadowbox that WORKS! The only problem is, that if you’re a Windows Vista user like me, the size of the manga scans don’t adjust properly to the screen.
Here’s the technical blurb on the issue:
The mode to use for handling content that is too large for the viewport. May be one of “none”, “resize”, or “drag” (for images). The “none” setting will not alter the image dimensions, though clipping may occur. Setting this to “resize” enables on-the-fly resizing of large content. In this mode, the height and width of large, resizable content will be adjusted so that it may still be viewed in its entirety while maintaining its original aspect ratio. The “drag” mode will display an oversized image at its original resolution, but will allow the user to drag it within the view to see portions that may be clipped.
I wan’t to believe I know what it means, but I’m not sure. Anyway, I’m working out the issue and I’m thinking that it could be fixed by at least December. If I can get it done sooner, I will, but I make no promises as I will be busy with NaNoWriMo. I will however be making updates to the scanlations. And I will be adding more anime episodes as well.
Also, don’t forget to submit your news with or brand new nifty-nifty Community News section in the sidebar.
Well, mina, it’s time for me to get to work. Ciao!
I will be running a site maintenance tonight, so the Manga Scans will be somewhat unavailable for viewing. They should be back up and running by tomorrow.
Thanks for understanding guys!
Hi guys! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything (well, I did post a few scanlations the other day, and I plan to post even more this week!) but life and everything else has gotten in the way a bit.
Still, I have been working on the site and I am happy to announce a brand new community feature that I think you will all enjoy. On the right side bar of the site I have added a ‘Community News’ section. Now you too can contribute some news, rumors or anything else that pertains to InuYasha right from the sidebar. These are just small blurbs (about 200 words), but just about anyone can post.
Also, I have added a nifty new Tag Cloud that is visually pleasing to the eyes. Let me know if you like it or not.
I’m always looking for ways to improve on the site and make it pretty. I’m still trying to figure out the better way to handle the gallery, but we’ll see how that goes. I do run this site by myself so if anyone would like to contribute in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.
That’s all for today folks! I hope you enjoy the new goodes =) Now go, and spead the word!

First, I’d like to apologize to you all for the double e-mails, re-notices and layout funky-ness. Also, major sorries for the way the gallery looks right now.
I thought I had fixed all of these issues, but with the integration of the new newsletter/notification plug, my gallery got totally messed up.
I’m not sure what exactly happened, and I am not the smartest cookie in the cookie jar, but I think I’m just not gonna tweak the gallery any more. Instead, I’ll be looking for layout alternatives. Although, I do like the current layout, I would like to be able to make the scans a little more readable.
One of my many works-in-progress…
I am going through the whole gallery, and re-submitting all images to fix any issues. I figured it would be easier that way… a bit more tedious for me, but easier in that I’m not just sitting here trying to figure out my code and find where I went wrong.
If all goes according to my plans, I should be able to fix the gallery and finish uploading volume 3 by the end of the weekend.
If you’ve been following the changes, you may have notices one major addition… the Anime Episodes. I decided to upload these as well, and keep it cuncurrent with the manga so you can see the differences between the two (and of course, so you can enjoy some anime goodness!)
I have also added an Affiliates section. I’ve already added 2 affiliates to the site (Eternal Destiny and The Feudal Association). When you get a chance, don’t forget to check them out!!
Also, before I forget to mention, if anyone is interested in helping out with the site, please contact me (comment, email: voodoobanshee[at]gmail.com, guestbook, and the soon to come… contact page.)
Oh! And don’t forget to mention any suggestions you may have as well… I would love to hear them. Thanks guys!
Sorry to keep spamming!!! So I think I figured out the gallery. One small step in the right direction, ne? I also uploaded a new header for the site. I hope everyone enjoys. I’m not the most graphically-smart person. In fact, I’m graphically-challenged. But I think I did an ok job.
Now I’m trying to figure out the Newsletter/Suscription script. UGH! I can’t get it right it seems. I guess I’ll just have to try… and then try again.
Thanks for all your patience guys.
